The hole drilled next to the float valve is the new second atmospheric pressure vent.
Here are the two new ports. I would later cut them shorter.

Carb orientation
This is the orientation of the carb on the engine. Front of the car is toward the bottom of the photo.
Float orientation
This shows the orientation of the float and how much of the float bowl volume is taken up by that float.
Filter material
Filter mesh material taken from a fuel filter and cut so that it fits inside the brass housing I made.
