This is what happened when the pressure plate in SONEAT (Dad's '68 Sonett)... Grenaded.

at-speed > Bent input shaft and destroyed bell housing.
at-speed > This is the floor of the engine bay, looking from front to back. The ring gear flailing about simply cut through the boxed section that borders the hole underneath the transmission.
at-speed > This is looking from inside the engine bay, through the hole in the side of the bay that a piece of flywheel or pressure plate made... The white thing visible through the hole is the Koni damper that it dented before ricocheting into the wheel and taking a chunk out of that.

Note the additional small hole just above the big one.
at-speed > Again, looking from the engine bay out through the hole from the shrapnel and seeing the dented shock.
at-speed > With the driveshaft whacking about, it bent the suspension tower.
